At the GeeCol Lymphoedema Service anyone is welcome to join our LAG - Lymphoedema Assistance Group meetings. Our LAG meetings are held on a monthly basis and our Lymphoedema Specialists will give informative support and advice on Lymphoedema/Lipoedema.
At these sessions we will discuss any issues you may have, offer advice on footwear, hosiery, compression garments and lymphoedema bras/mastectomy bras including prothesis.
We also offer you an opportunity to take part in some lymphoedema specific exercises, which are designed for patients with limited mobility. These exercises are very gentle and can be performed sitting in a chair. The LAG meetings will hopefully give you an oppertunity to meet other people in similar situations and share tips and advice as to the most efficient management of lymphoedema or chronic swelling. These get togethers are designed to be very informal and act as learning and support sessions.
The LAG - Meetings are Free of Charge and are held at our clinic at the West Suffolk Disability Resource Centre based at Papworth House, 4 Bunting Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP32 7BX.
Our next LAG Meeting is held on:
Tuesday - 28 February 2012 at 10.30 - 12.00
We will have a speaker during this LAG meeting who is giving an informal talk on skin care, compression garments and how compression garments work on your lymphatic and vascular system. There will be an opportunity for you to look at compression garments samples and to find out what choice you have on garment material, colour and style.
